OMG you guys, I swear I’m still alive. Like I said on twitter, my computer took a shit and I haven’t been able to do much online lately except when I borrow my girlfriend’s laptop. I apologize for disappearing!

I’ll be back up and running once I get a new laptop, I promise. Until then, keep saving up money for the trip! :D

Details/Additional comments on the trip:

• You do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT have to stay for all four nights. You are welcome to come for one night or all four, whichever you choose, but this will need to be determined beforehand.
• Nobody that emailed me gave me any of these dates as ones that would conflict with their schedules, so I think this should work out fairly well.

Also, here are some quick numbers that I’m estimating: IF we have eight people that end up going and we get two hotel rooms for four nights (and all 8 people stay the whole time), it would end up being about $90 per person for the hotel rooms for all four nights, assuming they cost about $90 per room per night. Of course, the math could get a little more in-depth if some people leave early, because we may only need one room at that point, etc. But I’m going to say $90 per person on the cheap end, maybe $150 tops. It all depends on how many people go and how long everyone stays. Also, if you stay for less than four nights it would be cheaper, obviously.

So, since I’m assuming that money will now be the number one thing stopping people from going, I’m going to start working on figuring out some numbers. I can’t help much with your plane ticket costs, because we’re all from different parts of the world so obviously it will be more for some than for others. 

For example, the flights from where I live are ending up at around $650, probably $700 with the fees and taxes and such. Then with the hotel estimation, I’d expect to spend around $90-$150 (in case some people leave early) for the rooms for all four nights. Plus about $200 spending money that I’d allow myself (trying to be reasonable here with eating out and such, but I’m not a huge spender so some people would bring more or less, whatever). Plus I need to get a passport (no idea how much that costs).

So I, personally, am looking at about $1,000+ for the trip. That sounds like a lot, but I have a while to save up. Plus it’s all in the name of meeting Lana! And all of you, of course ;)

I suggest that you guys start looking at flights for those days, just to get an idea of prices. We have a while now before anything else needs to be decided, but near the end of this year I’m going to have to post a deadline for committing to the trip.

I already have someone that has offered to help with crunching numbers and figuring these things out, but if ANYONE has ANY ideas for how we can raise money for hotel/rental car costs (basically any of our shared costs), let me know!

The Evil Regal Meetup Trip 2013 will run from Wednesday, Feb 6th, 2013 to Sunday, Feb 10th in Vancouver, BC.

Just wanted to pop in before I leave and let you guys know that I got your emails, and I will answer each one of them once I get back from vacation! Thank you thank you THANK YOU for taking a few minutes to email me the info I asked for, it’s a great help. If you don’t know what I’m talking about but you’d like to, refer to this post. 

I should have our trip dates picked out by the time I get back, and I will most likely announce them on Lana’s birthday (also my Grandma’s birthday, weird).

After that, we can move onto the next parts of planning the trip! And yes, this is the point in time when I may be taking a few of you up on those offers to help me out.. Yay this is so exciting I’m glad you guys are seriously interested in making this happen :)

I have decided that this would be a good time to give you guys a few days so that you can all contact me about dates. Whether you are on my original list or not, if you’re interested in going on the trip, I need you to do the following:

Right now we are still in the early planning stages, so you don’t have to commit to anything. Anyone is welcome to come though, and the cutoff for deciding whether or not you’re going for sure won’t be for a while. So if you’re AT ALL interested, don’t let anything hold you back! Join in on the planning, and maybe you’ll see that it is possible for you to come with :) At the very least, you can make some new friends!
